Econekt Autumn Update

Published: 12th November 2021

Things have been non-stop recently here at Econekt, with a whole host of incredible projects at various stages – with one even being shortlisted for the ‘Best ICF Home’ in the Build It Awards.

Build It Awards 2021 – ‘Best ICF Home’ Shortlist

We are absolutely delighted to announce that one of our projects has been shortlisted for the ‘Best ICF Home’ in the Build It Magazine Awards 2021. For 10 years the Build It Awards have been the most coveted accolade in the self-build industry.

The Milngavie project boasts a striking, contemporary aesthetic, with the innovative design features to boot!

Winners will be announced on the 26th November.

Aiket Self-build – Stewarton

Aiket Self-Build in Stewarton has been running at full steam to achieve a watertight structure before the typical Scottish weather turns. Work began on this site earlier this year, with over 100m of road having to be created in what was essentially an agricultural field, providing site and construction access along with all the field drainage, services and ground source heat pump loops. Works began on the lower foundation slab and sub-base works – including excavation, installation and waterproofing. The lower house structure ICF was then built and poured, including waterproofing works, paving the way for the upper foundation slab install. We are now at the stage where the full home’s ICF structure has been completed with the roof and windows also being installed.

Newton Mearns

We have been working on a project in Newton Mearns too. The client’s builder had no previous experience in ICF construction, but this was overcome with ease due to our supply and assist service. Work is well and truly underway now on the project, with the basement and waterproofing works completed, ground floor slab finished and the ground floor ICF walls now being built.

Devon:

Our project in Devon is being built in two phases – phase 1 the basement and phase 2 the superstructure. The first phase has started on site with foundation slab being laid with waterproofing works. This is now ready for the Izodom ICF walls to be built.

This full structural shell project is on its way to completion. The foundation slab, ICF walls and posi-joists have now all been installed with the roof structure works now ready to begin.

We are also at the design stages for several other projects with a number of ICF deliveries also taking place before the end of the year – more to follow on these soon.
